Conversational Hypnosis Techniques - Using the Power of First Impression

Most people do not know that the very first second 2 strangers lay eyes on each other, that very moment has great potency. The first impression creates a strong and lasting image of a new person we met. It has a tendency to stay in the memory of another person for a very long time.

Why is first impression so important? It has to do with the amount of information each and every one of use receives. All of us are bombarded with tonnes of information every day and every moment. We are constantly exposed to information from newspapers, magazines, advertisement, the internet, social networks etc.

In order to make sense of everything, human beings have developed a quick judgment system to interpret the amount of data reaching the brain. It is sort of like a filtering system to determine what we put out attention on.

The same system is applied when we are meeting new people as well. When we meet a stranger, we instantly create a snapshot and decide whether this person is worth our time to develop into a friendship. We already have a preconceived image of what that person is like before he or she utter a single word.

It’s a hard fact but that is how people have evolved.

Conversational Hypnosis Technique Using a Strong First Impression

One of the top trainers of conversational hypnosis, Igor Ledochowski has always emphasised the importance of 1st impression.

Our body shrieks before our mouth can speak. Even before we open our month, the essence of “you” has already been etched on the mind of the person we are talking to.

According to Ledochowski, the way we move dictates more than 80% of someone’s first impression on us. Without saying a word, we are being judged simply by how we walk and how we carry ourselves.

In the office when we are meeting a new colleague, we could tell instantly how friendly he would be. We could also tell how confident he is and approximately how much stature he has in the company.

Therefore, work on the way you walk to project a strong first impression. Walk tall and straighten your spine. Imagine that you are trying to touch the top of your head to the ceiling. Doing so will give you a good posture thus creating a positive first impression on the other person.
