How do you experience the World?

To some the life around us just happens randomly. To others there is purpose. This occurs because of an awareness or lack of awareness of who they are and what their purpose in life is. As I stated in an earlier blog, it is our mind that helps determine what we receive and experience. I say our mind because this is where our thoughts come from. Our thoughts are generated from our education, our up bringing and how we perceive what goes on around us.

This later point is one of profound importance because the way we perceive our reality is specific to how we learn. If you learn best by listening then the things you here affects how you think and act. This applies to all of us because we are all human. The fact is we live in a world that is made from our thoughts. The first shelter was built because of the fact that we wanted to get out of the sun or cold or rain.

We do the things we do because of thought and this is how our realities are shaped. In order to understand this better ask yourself these questions, what are my eyes doing when I am thinking? Am I looking to the right, left? Am I looking up or down, to the left or right? The answers to these questions will give you a clue as to what your representational systems is which is how you perceive the world around you.

If you look left or right, up and down you are a visual thinker meaning you think in images. If you look down and to the right you are a kinesthetic or think in terms of feelings. If you look down and to the left this make you an auditory thinker. This means you perceive your world in sound bites and thus think in terms of what you hear. All of us are a little of each however, but there is a predominate mode that we operate within.

Thus the question "How do you experience the World?"
