Great question and one we’ll tackle here today on Remarkable Hypnosis. I get asked this question almost on a daily basis, which fascinates me. As a hypnotist I see hypnosis occurring all around me while people exist in a trance they don’t even realise they are in.
You did know you move in and out of different trances throughout your day, didn’t you?
Like the FAQ discusses right here on this blog, if you have ever driven down the street, arrived at your destination while not remembering part of your journey, you’ve experienced hypnosis. Your subconscious mind took over, protected you, and assisted you in arriving at your destination. It’s a magical thing really, one I wish more people understood completely. I bet you have watched a movie before or television, ESPECIALLY soap operas… and whatever you’re watching drew you in so much, it may have seemed like real life.
My mother watches “The Bachelorette” and “The Bachelor”… it’s amazing to me how engaged she gets on both shows while her emotions are led from almost crying to sheer joy.
Is it real?
No, but they do such a good job of producing the show, you’re instantly hypnotised with an instant induction you didn’t even realise was happening. You have to watch what you’re putting in your head… especially when you listen to music… did you know that the very last words you hear from a song will stick with you while affecting your entire day?
Whatever you tell yourself on a constant basis will come true eventually, too. You want your world to suck? Just keep repeating “life sucks” enough time and your life will suck, I promise.
Now, many different uses of hypnosis exist depending on who you talk to… there’s covert solution oriented hypnosis, covert manipulative, hypnotherapy, stage hypnosis, street hypnosis, conversational hypnosis and on and on.
If you want to get over a habit/problem in your life that’s causing stress, hypnosis can help you get there quicker than a lot of other methods provided you’re open to the experience. If you’re not open to hypnosis, there’s nothing I can do to help you. I can teach you self hypnosis if you’d like though you have to use it on a daily basis for it to be effective. There’s the action part that you need to partake on for it to work.
So, hypnosis is basically an altered state where we are able to work directly with your subconscious mind to accomplish solutions much faster than normal.
You won’t tell me your deepest darkest secrets, I won’t mess with your mind to make you do things you don’t want to do… All I’m here to do as a hypnotist is to guide you through trance to arrive at a solution.
